Georgy Zhukov (born December 1st 1896) is a West Russian Revolutionary Front marshal and the leader of the autonomous Ukhta military district.

Biography[]

Early career[]

Georgy Zhukov was born to a poor, peasant family in Strelkovka in 1896. Like most Russians at the time, Zhukov would only have a few years of primary education in which Zhukov had only 3 years.

Military career[]

Zhukov's military career started when he was conscripted into World War I, in 1915. Due to his bravery, Zhukov earned high prestige medals like the Cross of St. George and was promoted to an officer. Once the Russian Revolution began, Zhukov joined the Bolshevik Party and served with one of its cavalry armies, where he quickly rose in the ranks. By 1933, he became a commander, by 1933, he became a deputy commander, and by 1939, a general. Like Tukhchevsky, he was a renowned military leader, and was also involved in the suppression of the Tambov Rebellion.

World War II and aftermath[]

The military skill of Zhukov could not prevent the Wehrmacht from destroying the Red Army. The Soviet Union would collapse but remnants of the Red Army banded together to form the West Russian Revolutionary Front, which Mikhail Tukhachevsky, and Zhukov were generals and founders of. Along with other generals, Zhukov fought in the West Russian War, against Reichskommissariat Moskowien. He led Operation Susorov which got the Front up to Ukraine, but the Front ended up collapsing during the war because of political divisions and power struggles. As a result, the Germans pushed Russian forces to the A-A line, where it stayed.

Present day[]

Zhukov stayed loyal to the Front and became leader of the Ukhta military district. He, alongside his rival, Mikhail Tukhachevsky, is a likely successor of Kliment Voroshilov, leader of the Front. Zhukov has become disillusioned with the Front and claims it has abandoned the working class it claims to represent. His broad political coalition consists of different groups such as anti-Tukhachevsky militarists, and social democrats. Hardliner generals of the Front question Zhukov's trustworthiness and loyalty to the Front due to his independent positions.

In-game[]

Georgy Zhukov 70s

Zhukov's portrait after unifying Russia.

Although starting in Ukhta, if one wishes to unify Russia under him, they must start the game as the WRRF and, when prompted to, name Zhukov as Voroshilov's successor. After doing so, provided Zhukov's influence has remained higher than Tukhavhevsky's, once you finish Zhukov's focuses, Ukhta will be annexed by the WRRF, and you will have to deal with a revolution by Tukhavhevsky. Defeating this insurrection will allow you to use Tukhachevsky as a field marshal, and he can stay that way provided you do not take the focus that forces him to retire.

After unifying the region, Zhukov's focus tree introduces a new mechanic - determining what the future ideology of Russia is. This is done by choosing focuses, with different focuses increasing the influence of a different men and their corresponding ideology (Communism, represented by Sergey Akhromeyev; Socialism, represented by Nikolai Ryzhkov; and Social Democracy, represented by Alexander Yakovlev). While some decisions will add influence to two of the three men (for example, opting to apply for OFN aid is supported by both Akhromeyev and Yakovlev), the final focus of Zhukov's first regional tree will give one of the men a definitive lead in influence - fortunately, unlike certain other countries, the other two men will not revolt against you if you do not favor them.

Zhukov can peacefully unify with Sverdlovsk (if an Authoritarian Democracy) and Tyumen (regardless of who is in charge of Tyumen at the time) at the regional stage. At the super-regional stage, he can unify with the People's Revolutionary Council, Irkutsk (regardless of if Genrikh Yagoda or Sergey Bessonov is in charge), and Buryatia. Which ideology Zhukov has gone down the path will not affect who he can peacefully unify with.

Quote upon unification[]

"We will do all we can to ensure peace... but if war is imposed on us we will be together shoulder to shoulder as in the last war to strive for the happiness of mankind."

—Georgy Zhukov

Trivia[]

Back when there was a planned canon for a 1972 start date, Zhukov was going to be the one to unify western Russia, having been chosen by Voroshilov, before going on to annex Pavel Batov-controlled Western Siberia.
