Heinrich Himmler (born 7th October 1900) is the Reichsführer of the Schutzstaffel and the leader of the SS State of Burgundy.

In-game

During the German Civil War, he will indirectly support Reinhard Heydrich and in the likely event that Heydrich is defeated (reflected by the name of said focus that the player will unlock, "A Predictable Failure," upon Heydrich's defeat), he will shift to supporting Hermann Göring instead. He will not attempt to support either Albert Speer or Martin Bormann if Göring is defeated - ironically, Burgundy can only be defeated the traditional way if Göring or Heydrich wins; Göring will inevitably attempt to invade Burgundy as part of War Plan C (which also covers invasions of the United States of America and the Empire of Japan), leading to either nuclear war or (if the player is fast enough) Himmler's capture and execution, upon which the German population as a whole will celebrate Himmler's demise; and Heydrich will turn on Himmler when he learns of Himmler's true plans, which causes a civil war to break out amongst the SS. If Speer or Bormann win, on the other hand, they can only invade Burgundy if the French State is a member of the Einheitspakt during the collapse of Burgundy (if the French State becomes a member of the Organization of Free Nations, the United States will instead lead an invasion of Burgundy).

While Himmler is shown to be dismissive of the United States as a whole, if Margaret Chase Smith is elected, he is shown to actually respect the United States somewhat because of it, believing that they have made a "sensible" decision for once, largely due to her belligerence towards Japan, believing she has risen above her "cowardly" English and French ancestry.

Trivia

  • Amusingly, if you use console commands to change England's government to Esoteric Nazism, a very obviously disguised Himmler will take control over the country, calling him "Heinrich HMMLR," claiming to be the leader of the Burnley Resistance Brigade. This is a reference to "Adam Hilt," "Señor Hilter," and "Adolfos I" from vanilla Hearts of Iron IV (three possible fascist leaders for the United States, Argentina and Greece respectively, all of which are obviously Adolf Hitler who faked his death and fled Germany), and to the original plan for Her Majesty's Most Loyal Resistance, which would have been secretly backed by Burgundy, and relying too much on Burgundian aid would have led to the English Catastrophe and a 2nd English Civil War.
