Tresckow's 70s portrait.
Henning Von Tresckow (born 10th January 1901) is a German officer and a member of the reformist faction of the National Socialist German Workers' Party led by Albert Speer and the Gang of Four. He joined the army in 1917 and became the youngest lieutenant in the German Empire in 1918. He hates the current state of the Wehrmacht and its politicization, and he has made it his goal to reform it to the Prussian standards of discipline, honour, and professionalism.
In-game[]
Tresckow starts the game as one of Germany's field marshals. When the German Civil War breaks out, Tresckow sides with Albert Speer and become his security minister. Should Speer win the civil war, Tresckow will begin his task of reforming the Wehrmacht, and demand that Speer decrease the length of the draft, as well as divert more funds to the army.
If Speer's government collapses and he becomes a puppet of Theodor Oberländer, Tresckow dies and is succeeded by Heinrich Trettner. In Speer's fascist path, he will be forced to share his position with Otto Ernst Remer after the Slave Revolt.
Trivia[]
Tresckow is notable for being the only member of the "Gang of Four" (the other 3 members being Kurt Georg Kiesinger, Helmut Schmidt, and Ludwig Erhard) who was not a chancellor of West Germany in real life. He was likely chosen due to his involvement in the 20 July Plot, an attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler, which was never carried out in TNO (since the war never went bad for Germany).
