Her Majesty's Most Loyal Resistance (abbreviated HMMLR) is the largest resistance faction in the British Isles, seeking to overthrow the German collaborators. HMMLR consists of two factions: the Special Operations Executive, monarchists who seek to restore the rightful monarch of Britain, Queen Elizabeth II, and the left-wing Left Resistance.
History
Her Majesty's Most Loyal Resistance began in the aftermath of World War II. However, it did not become prominent until the defeat of the Communist Party of Great Britain at the Third Battle of Cable Street, catapulted the group into the main face of English Resistance that it now is. The group is composed of a network of several different rebel groups all answering to one unknown Boss, whose true identity is Maxwell Knight. The two main subgroups of HMMLR are the Special Operations Executive, conservative monarchists led by Sir Fitzroy Maclean, and the Left Resistance, an eclectic mix of communists and socialists led by Jack Jones. Both are united in their thirst for vengeance upon the traitors of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the British People's Party and other German collaborators.
In-game
The main opposition to the British People's Party's rule in England is HMMLR, which is building up arms and popular support for an eventual uprising. Wherever the resistance seeks to solidify its influence, the British Civil War will inevitably happen when Barry Domvile is assassinated shortly after Adolf Hitler's death.
If HMMLR wins the civil war, the first thing it has to deal with is the Channel Crisis, as neither the Greater Germanic Reich nor the United States of America wants Britain to join their rival. If Britain fails to negotiate with the US for entry into the Organization of Free Nations, Germany will launch a second invasion against which Britain stands no chance, and subsequently install William Joyce as Lord Protector of a puppet government that is even more chained to Germania than the previous one.
After the civil war, if Knight's provisional government refuses the Left Resistance's demand to abolish the House of Lords, they'll carry out a revolution, overthrowing the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie and ushering in the socialist, republican Commonwealth of Britain. Otherwise, the exiled Labour Party and Conservative Party return home and hold elections.
If HMMLR loses the civil war, it will be thrown into the dustbins of history. The last remnant of HMMLR is Kim Philby, the new Director General of MI5, who pretends to remain loyal to the collaborators so he could sabotage them in case they win the civil war.

Trivia
- Originally, HMMLR was reliant on the material support of Burgundy. If the player would rely on Burgundy too much, the country would fall into a civil war between fascists led by A. K. Chesterton, conservatives led by Harold Macmillan and nationalists led by Bernard Montgomery. The super-event, named "The English Catastrophe", is still in the mod's files. As a possible comedic reference to that, if the player changes the ideology of HMMLR England to Esoteric Nazism, "Heinrich HMMLR" will become the leader (which is just Heinrich Himmler with a slightly edited portrait and comedic bio).
- Originally, in the plans for what would have been canon if the 1972 start date was chosen, HMMLR would have lost the English Civil War, with Margaret Thatcher ultimately succeeding Alec Douglas-Home.
- Originally, HMMLR was confined to just England, with Scotland and Wales being their own countries with focus trees and content, and both would be conquered by England post- civil war. Since the update The Ruin, they both have been removed.
