Josef Terboven (born 23rd May 1898) is a German politician and the Reichskommissar of Norway
History[]
Early career[]
Josef Terboven was born in 1898 and joined the nascent German Air Force during the First World War. He joined the Nazi Party in 1923 and participated in the Beer Hall Putsch.
Rise to prominence[]
Terboven organized the NSDAP establishment in Essen and was an SA Obergruppenfuhrer by 1936. Terboven was named Oberpräsident der Rheinprovinz in 1935 and developed a reputation of being a petty tyrant.
Ruler of Norway[]
Terboven became the Reichskommissar of Norway in April 1940, and has served in the office for nearly 24 years.
