Konstantin Rokossovsky (born 21st December 1896) is a Russo-Polish Soviet military marshal and leader of the military junta led Sverdlovsk. While not having enough time to see his country unified within his remaining period of life, he is determined to see the entirety of Western Siberia united under his 3rd Army as his last wish.
Biography[]
Early-life[]
Rokossovsky was born in Warsaw, then part of Congress Poland under Russian rule. His family had moved to Warsaw following the appointment of his father as the inspector of the Warsaw Railways. The Rokossovsky family were members of the Polish nobility (of the Oksza coat of arms), and over generations had produced many cavalry officers. However, Konstantin's father, Ksawery Wojciech Rokossowski, was a railway official in the Russian Empire and his Russian mother Antonina Ovsyannikova was a teacher. Orphaned at 14, Rokossovsky earned a living by working in a stocking factory.
In 1911, he became an apprentice stonemason. Rokossovsky's patronymic Ksaverovich was Russified on his enlistment into the Russian Army at the start of the First World War to Konstantinovich, which would be easier to pronounce in the 5th Kargopol Dragoon Regiment where he volunteered to serve.
Early military career[]
On joining the Kargopolsky 5th Dragoon Regiment, Rokossovsky soon showed himself a talented soldier and leader; he ended the war with the rank of a junior non-commissioned officer, serving in the cavalry throughout the war. He was wounded twice during the war and awarded the Cross of St George. In 1917, he joined the Bolshevik Party and soon thereafter, entered the ranks of the Red Army.
During the Russian Civil War, he commanded a cavalry squadron of the Kargopolsky Red Guards Cavalry Detachment in the campaigns against the White Guard armies of Aleksandr Kolchak in the Urals where, in November 1919, he was wounded in the shoulder by an opposing officer whom he later killed when his cavalry overran an enemy headquarters. Rokossovsky received Soviet Russia's highest military decoration at the time, the Order of the Red Banner.
World War II[]
Over the years, he has been showing quite dedication and skill in the Red Army, which soon proved quite useful at the times when Germany struck the Soviet Union, with him being assigned to lead the 3rd Army. However, despite all of his skills and tactics that were deployed on the battlefield, he simply could not overturn the tide due to the incompetence of the Soviet Presidium headed by Nikolai Bukharin, as well as the disaster of Siberian plan that did little to prepare Russia against the German invasion. Following an end of the Second World War, his army retreated to Western Siberia and joined forces with Joseph Stalin's West Siberian People's Republic. After Stalin's death, when Dmitry Karbyshev refused to follow his successor Lazar Kaganovich and formed the Siberian Black League, Rokossovsky and the Ural Military District also cut ties with him.
Present-day[]
In 1962, faced with terror bombing campaigns, the threat of Kaganovich and the Black League being close, and how he does not have much years left to live, Rokossovsky must do what is in his power to overcome the problems and obstacles he faces, if Russia is ever to be reunified in his vision where the Red Army would serve the common people, for he is the Lion of Siberia, and nothing will stop him from achieving his goals.
In-game[]
Rokossovsky is the starting leader of Sverdlovsk. During this stage, Rokossovsky can reunify peacefully with the Free Aviators and Zlatoust, with everyone else he has to defeat through war. After unifying West Siberia, Rokossovsky dies and is succeeded by either Boris Yeltsin or Pavel Batov, who can proceed to reunify Russia in their own image.
