Mao Zedong (1893 - 1944) was a Chinese communist revolutionary and the chairman of the Communist Party of China, during the Chinese Civil War and the Second Sino-Japanese War. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Mao allied with the Republic of China under Chiang Kai-shek.
Death
Mao and Chiang died during the battle of Chongqing in 1944, which resulted in a Japanese victory. According to reports from other soldiers, Mao was killed by an explosive charge, placed inside the compound, the same explosion that killed Chiang as well.
