Guatemala, officially the Republic of Guatemala (Spanish: República de Guatemala), is a country in Central America. It borders Mexico to the north, Belize to the east, and El Salvador and Honduras to the southeast.
Guatemala starts as a progressive state, led by Luis Cardoza y Aragón of the Union of the Guatemalan Revolution. However, in 1964, Miguel Ydígoras Fuentes of the National Front coups the government, establishing a national conservative presidency.
