The Republican-Democratic Coalition (RDC), also known as the Republican-Democrats, is a coalition of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party, which forms one of the two major power blocs in the United States of America against the anti-establishment National Progressive Pact.

History

The Coalition was formed in midst political upheaval inflicted by the formation of the Pact against the mainstream parties. At the end of the Eisenhower presidency in 1956, the Democratic Party didn't support Progressive Vice President Burton Wheeler, they nominated Estes Kefauver instead. Wheeler's split caused the revive of the Progressive Party and shift to the Nationalist Party. The participation of the dozen new parties during the midterms caused a chaos, sabotaging Kefauver's term. The Republican and Democratic party formed this coalition in response to the newly created NPP.
