The '''Spanish Republic''' is a faction in the [[Iberian Wars]], consisting of leftists, liberals and constitutional monarchists who rebel against the [[Iberian Union|Madrid]] government and seek to turn Spain into some form of democracy. It begins the war as a functional liberal democracy but can backslide into military rule if the conflict lasts long enough.
