Yakutia, officially the Sakha Republic, is a warlord state in the Russian Far East.
History
As one of the many states that formed after Genrikh Yagoda's disastrous attempt to invade the Central Siberian Republic, Yakutia is notable for having a state largely controlled by corporate interests, similar to Novosibirsk. Unlike Novosibirsk, however, not only do most of these corporations own their own paramilitaries, but they are also connected to organized crime. Due to the nation's surprisingly plentiful diamond mines, it is seen as a source of potential wealth by many.
In-game
As Yakutia is not a unifier, they are largely unaffected until one of the six unifiers from the Far East comes knocking. Chita is notable for being the only unifier to offer Yakutia a chance for peaceful annexation. However, the other five warlords will not extend this offer to Yakutia. In particular, Buryatia will not have a focus tree dedicated to annexing them, instead having a single decision to do so.
